Punit Balan Cricket Academy produced a commanding all-round performance to register an emphatic 89-run victory over Kapil Sons in the MCA Men’s Corporate Shield Tournament 2025–26. The match was played at Nehru Stadium, Swargate.

Batting first, Punit Balan Cricket Academy posted a formidable total of 404 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs. Openers Harsh Mogaveera and Pawan Shah provided a solid start, adding 55 runs for the first wicket. Pawan Shah went on to score a brilliant 101 off 101 balls, smashing 11 fours. Sachin Dhas anchored the innings with another splendid 101-run knock, striking nine fours and two sixes. Siddharth Matre added late momentum with a quickfire 50 off 34 deliveries, helping the Academy cross the 400-run mark.
In reply, Kapil Sons began positively but struggled to maintain consistency as wickets fell at regular intervals. Siddhesh Iyer top-scored with 51 off 38 balls, while Neeraj Joshi and Anurag Kawade chipped in with fighting half-centuries. Despite their efforts, the target proved too steep. Kapil Sons were eventually bowled out for 315 in 44.5 overs, falling short by 89 runs.
The bowling unit of Punit Balan Cricket Academy maintained pressure throughout the innings, ensuring control in the middle overs and capitalising on key breakthroughs.
