Punit Balan Cricket Academy’ announced in Pune; A golden opportunity for budding cricketers

Pune: Young entrepreneur Punit Balan has announced the launch of the Punit Balan Cricket Academy in Pune, offering a major opportunity for aspiring cricketers. The academy is claimed to be the largest private cricket setup in the country at the BCCI level. Academy owner Punit Balan expressed confidence that the system of world-class training will serve as a strong platform for young players aiming to pursue professional cricket.

Punit Balan, known for his active involvement in promoting various sports, stated that after receiving strong encouragement from cricket enthusiasts, he decided to establish this academy. Two major grounds have been selected for the academy – one located near Sinhagad College in Vadgaon and another facility equipped with an indoor setup.

All official BCCI-level matches will be organized at these grounds. The academy will feature BCCI-trained coaches who will guide and mentor the players. Admissions will begin from January 15. Since this is a professional academy, intake will be limited to ensure quality training and focused development.

Balan emphasized that the academy aims to help transform young cricketers from Maharashtra into professional-level players. He described the initiative as a historic opportunity for boys and girls who aspire to build a serious career in cricket.

Well-Equipped Infrastructure

The academy will function throughout the year without interruption, including during the monsoon season. Facilities include:

  • Three indoor wickets

  • Practice grounds

  • Professional training support

  • Hostel facilities for outstation players

This ensures continuous training and convenience for players coming from different regions.

Special Batches for Women

Separate training batches will be arranged specifically for women cricketers and girls interested in pursuing cricket professionally. This initiative is seen as an important step toward promoting women’s cricket in Maharashtra.

Competition Opportunities through PBG Judicial Cricket Club

Players enrolled in the academy will also get opportunities to participate in various invitational tournaments hosted by the PBG Judicial Cricket Club, enabling them to gain competitive exposure and experience.

Punit Balan stated that the academy has been established to provide world-class training and develop talented players. With expert coaching, structured facilities, and competitive opportunities, the academy aims to increase Maharashtra’s presence at national and international cricket levels.
